I had a girl’s day today with my best friend. I went over to her house around 10am and was there till 4:30, as I had volunteering in the evening. Me and her spent an hour catching up on all the drama at school and our personal life. We don’t go to the same school but have been friends since middle school as we lived in the same neighborhood. Her school is more traumatic and has something happening every day of the week. Around 12, we decided to bake together and ended up making brownies. We made vlogs of this together and had a funny experience, as we had our little funny moments and enjoyed every second of it. While the brownies were baking, we had our lunch which watching Tangled! You can never go wrong with Disney. The brownies were ready at 3, so we let them cool for 30 mins. While doing this, we made face masks and did a little skincare time. The story took a little plot twist when my dad came over, her mom started talking about her to my dad. While talking about her, she bought up Life360, which can be a good thing in parent’s eyes and a bad thing in children’s eyes.
This is where two perspectives of life come in! On one hand, my friend saw it as a way of her parents trying to track her down and know her every move. But, in the mom’s eyes, this was a way to make sure that her daughter was safe. Teenage years is a time when “tracking apps” are something that they don’t like, because they don’t want to be stalked down by their own parents. Instead, they would call the parents and tell them where they are, but if there is a tracking app then the NEED to call your parents and tell them where you are is gone, because at this point your parents can just look at the app and know where you are. I am a teenager, and I would rather prefer it if I could call my parents and let them know where I am, rather than having them text me saying “why are you at chick-fil-A?”
